The Anytime Table Runner is a great project to learn the features on your Baby Lock Serger. This project uses the wave flatlock stitch that showcases our great thicker threads. Baby Lock National Educator, Linda Bratten will take you step by step through this project virtually. She will also demonstrate why quilters love having a serger in their sewing studios. Participants will gain tons of serger hints and tips without leaving their homes!
Quilting on the Edge is a virtual program in which Linda shares her love of machine quilting with templates (rulers) and it feature the Baby Lock/Westalee Exclusive Ruler Set. She will demonstrate how to properly set up your machine to use the ruler foot, how to use and care for the templates, tips and tricks for success, and several fun quilting motifs that can be used on a variety of projects. Linda will share her work to inspire you to use this technique to finish your own projects waiting to be quilted.

Meandering Methods is a 4 hour workshop. In this workshop I teach a no mark method of free-motion quilting technique using a sewing machine. The student should leave with a basic knowledge and skills to free-motion quilt their projects. Students will bring their machines to practice what they learn. I have a workbook available with my notes and techniques for this class.

Fun With Feathers
This class explores the basics of machine quilting feathers, and several different variations. This is a low mark method, so basic free-motion skills are needed from your students. This is a 3-4 hour class.

This is a 1-2 hour demonstration presentation. I will discuss basic techniques, considerations and tips to using thread painting techniques as quilting elements, applique enhancements, and to emphasize fabric patterns.
In this presentation I will discuss how to use your own photos to create landscape quilts. I will discuss color value, fabric selections, and enhancements. Some consideration will be given to thread painting and applique methods depending on time. This is a 1-2 hour presentation.
This can also be done as a workshop that includes the above presentation, the pattern for “A Day at the Beach”, and step by step guidelines to create the project. This workshop is 3-4 hours.
Fabric Postcards
This is a quick and easy in the hoop embroidery machine class for those who have a 5”x7” embroidery hoop. This is a 2 hour class designed to show students how to assemble a fabric postcard with their embroidery machines. You will choose either the ginkgo leaf or the poppy pattern to use in class.

This class is a 2-3 hour class that teaches several skills to create a reusable cover for a composition notebook. In this class we will learn basic piecing techniques, use the decorative stitches on our sewing machines, and then we will choose to use free-motion skills or our embroidery machines to create a translucent applique. For this class we will use my pattern, which will include 3 machine embroidery designs in a variety of formats and the free-motion patterns.

This is a 2 hour class in which color theory is simplified. This is helpful for the quilter or the machine embroidery student who always questions their fabric or thread choices. The students will create a color wheel using fabric swatches. Then we add “recipe dials” to make color scheme selections easy. A bonus color wheel embroidery design is included to help determine thread color needs.

This class shows your students just how quick and easy it is to use your serger to create a boxed zippered pouch. In just 1-2 hours they will finish the pouch and be ready to serge on to the next project.
